CBE offers EGP 60bn T-bills on Thursday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 60 billion through two auctions on Thursday, 27 June.

The first issue was valued at EGP 40 billion and will mature in 91 days on 1 October 2024, according to official data.

The second offering stood at EGP 20 billion, holding a tenor of 273 days until 1 April 2025.

On 24 June, the CBE announced T-bills worth EGP 55 billion through two tranches.

Both the central bank and the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) will suspend work next Sunday, as the government announced the day a paid public holiday on the occasion of the 30 June Revolution.
